Christmas is fast approaching and we’re having a
very busy and fun last full week in Kilcoskan NS. Here is the final newsletter
for this term - happy Christmas everybody!

· Christmas Carols Concerts: we are sold out
for the 3 days of concerts this week. We look forward to seeing you all at
12.30pm sharp on your Wednesday, Thursday or Friday visit. The show should last
no more than 1 hour.
· Please note that for safety reasons, buggies and
prams are not allowed in the Green Room during the
concert. Buggies and prams must be stored in the staffroom.
· For the concerts pupils wear their uniform as
normal but can wear a Santa hat / reindeer antlers etc. and a Christmas jumper if they have one.
Of course if pupils don’t have any Christmas jumper or Santa hat etc. that’s
totally fine.
· Term 1 after-school activities finish from Tuesday
15th December and of course thanks to our staff who provided
these – aerobics, Irish dance, Chess, choir and Christmas crafts. We’ll have
our term 2 after school activities schedule to issue by the end of January
2016.
· Well done to Brian and thanks to all his sponsors who helped raise
€675 for Movember charities.
· Thanks to all who sent-in the 2 litre milk cartons. Just this week we
reached over 500 so we have enough to make the igloo, but didn’t quite have
enough time to get it ready for Christmas. However, we’ll be making our school
igloo in the new year with a theme of arctic exploration for January!
· If you and your child would like to reminisce over
the holidays (or at any stage!) about all the educational and fun
activities that we have gotten up to this past term why not check out your
child’s class blog. Just go to www.kilcoskan.com, click on the
“News / School Blog” in the top right corner of the screen and you’ll be
brought to the Principal’s blog, which then has links to all the class blogs.
There’s a huge amount of information there documenting loads of the great
things our pupils get up to in KNS. Well done to our staff and pupils for
keeping them updated!
· School closes at
12pm midday on Tuesday next, 22nd December and reopens at 9am on Wednesday 6th January
2016 for a normal school day.
