KNS Sports Day 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As notified to you in last month’s newsletter, next Wednesday 28^th June is our whole-school KNS Sports Day 2017. This year, in a change from previous years, we are holding the full event in St.Margaret’s GAA Complex. The reason for this is so that we have a large enough and suitable safe grass surface upon which to run all of the events. So, rather than dropping children to school next Wednesday, we ask that all pupils be dropped to St.Margaret’s GAA grounds for 9am and collected at 1.40pm (infants) or 2.40pm (for all other class levels). That is to say that we are not going to be based in Kilcoskan NS next Wednesday at all – everything will be in St.Margaret’s GAA grounds for the full day. The grounds are a short 7 minute drive from Kilcoskan NS and there is a map below showing where it is relative to our school.

Just like previous years, parents are welcome to attend the event from 12.40pm. And, now that we’ll have a safe grass surface, this year will see the return of the eagerly contested parents’ race on Wednesday afternoon – there is still some time to train!  Please insure that your child has a suitable packed lunch, additional drinks and is wearing their school tracksuit – with shorts if the child wishes. Of course we recommend sun cream and caps etc. at this time of year too.

Please complete the slip below and return it to the school by Monday 26^th June confirming that you have arrangements in place to insure that your child will be at St.Margaret’s GAA Club grounds next Wednesday for the Great KNS Sports Day 2017. If the weather is bad we will text parents by 8.30am on the morning with an update.
