March 2013
Dear Parents,
This Thursday, 7th March 2013 is our Green School
Day of Action. We plan to have lots of
fun and interesting green themed activities for our pupils on the day. To keep
everybody informed, these will include:
- · Green themed dress up for World Book Day: All pupils may dress up as anything they like from a book on the theme of nature. (This could be a cat / butterfly / flower face painting etc.) Pupils are asked to bring the book that their character is based on. Pupils who dress up will be entered into a raffle for book voucher prizes. (Note: Parents should not feel under any pressure to source books / costumes etc. It’s merely an opportunity for children to be creative and have fun in school. If pupils can’t think of anything, they can still wear green!)
· Walk to school: meeting at the Coolquay Lodge at 8.45am
- · 9am – 9.30am: Parents welcome to visit the infant classroom where projects and pupil pets will be on display. If pupils are bringing a pet and also wish to walk to school, pets can be dropped to school from 8.40am.
- · 9am: In class, pupils will be having a biodiversity themed breakfast. This will include locally sourced brown toast, strawberry jam and other surprises. If pupils wish to bring in fruit etc. for breakfast they are welcome to do so.
- · 9.30am – home time: class activities / presentations / trails / quizzes, assembly etc.
