Information for Parents

                                                                                                          12th March 2013
Dear Parents,
The following are some information updates to keep you all informed about the goings on around Kilcoskan NS.
Kind regards,
Mr.Ciarán Caulfield, Principal

  • ·     St. Patrick’s weekend arrangements: School is open as normal on Friday 15th March for the full day. On Friday pupils may dress in green / wear appropriate colors to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  School will be closed on Monday 18th March.
  • ·     Easter Holiday arrangements: On Friday March 22nd school will close at 12noon to mark the start of the Easter holidays. School remains closed for two weeks and reopens on Monday 8th April.
  • ·     Thanks and well done to all for supporting our recent Green School Day of Action.   We all had great fun on the day and our visitor from An Taisce (the authority which checks the eco-friendliness standards of schools flying the Green Flag) was hugely impressed!  Last Thursday was also World Book Day so well done also to those pupils who managed to think of ways to link their nature themed costumes to a book.  Anyone who dressed up will be in a raffle this Friday for book vouchers.
  • ·     Please check our school blogs and website: All classes are now operating a class blog site / website. These offer a great opportunity to have a look at what’s going on in your child’s class and we urge all parents to please check in regularly with your child’s class blog.  Class blog sites can be accessed by simply going to www.kilcoskan.com and clicking on the left side of the screen (over the school picture). This will link you to each class site.
  • Swimming will be on this Friday 15th March but is not on the 22nd March. The final school swimming lesson will be on Friday 12th April.
  • ·      New small garden furniture has been acquired for the boys and girls in our back junior yard, along with the setting up of some nice planting arrangements to enhance this area. Feel free to call in and see it.
