November 2015
A Thuismitheoiri / Dear Parents,
Welcome back to everybody after the midterm break.
What a quick half term that was! Here is the November newsletter to keep you up
to date with all the exciting happenings in KNS!
Is mise le meas,
Ciarán Caulfield
·
Thanks to all who supported our recent Harvest Fair and Proclamation
Ceremony. It was a really super day - and on the 15th March we along with all
National Schools in Ireland will proudly raise our new tricolour at 12 noon in
memory of the Easter Rising.
·
Our sponsored cycle was also a great success - raising in the region of
€2,000 for yard equipment. Already the new yard markings are in and our pupils
are really enjoying these. We will be further investing in enhancing our yard
for pupils this school year and of course our school garden will develop
significantly this year too.
·
The Parents Association AGM was held in October and congratulations to
Antoinette Connolly who is back for another year as Chairperson. Thanks as
always for everything that our PA and indeed all parents do to support KNS.
Checkout the PA Facebook page for ongoing updates on PA events. Parent of
infant pupils who are available to help in the mornings with reading in the
infant class, for one hour maximum, please let us know at reception asap.
·
Shoebox Appeal: Leaflets with information about this went out this week.
For those who wish to be involved, filled boxes are due back on Monday 9th
November.
·
Our Christmas carols concert will be held on December 17th & 18th
this year, during the school day, in our central “Green Room”. It’ll be the
same concert both days to facilitate parents to attend but held over 2 days to
avoid overcrowding.
·
First Holy Communion will take place on 24th April this year.
·
After school activities: In KNS we pride ourselves on providing largely
free after school activities, available to all pupils from 1st - 6th class.
This term’s programme will start next week.
